Kensing Tiara

Kensing TiaraKensing Tiara

The start of the Tibetan Spaniels.
Our kennel started with Tibetan Spaniels with a bitch from England: Kensing Tiara. She comes from the famous kennel "Kensing" of breeder and judge Mrs. Jane Lilley. She keeps the dogs in the house, like we do, and she breeds a litter now and then. By the way, a lot of champions are strolling in her house !
In June 1992 Kensing Tiara came to live with us. We tried some shows with her, but she did not liked this a lot, so she stayed at home. When she was a little elder than 2 years old, she got a nest from Niord Riccardo, with two puppies, een dog and a bitch.

In Memoriam: Tiara 12 februari 1992 - 5 maart 2004
After the performance of her daughter Tara Pul-i-Khumri, as the first Dutch Tibetan Spaniel, at the Crufts Show in the UK, Tiara did not wake up in the morning of 5 March 2004. The mother of our kennel was born 12 February 1992 in the kennel Kensing of Jane Lilley in the south of England. That this pup was allowed to leave for the Netherlands was a small miracle. When we, at the beginning of the ‘90, wanted to obtain a Tibetan Spaniel, this was not so easy. When we weighted the pros and cons, we discovered the British kennel Kensing and we asked Jane Lilley if she had a pup for us. She answered that she usually did not let her ‘precious babies’ go to the ‘continent’ and suggested us to come by for a visit an get acquainted. After that she would consider our demand again……
March 1991 we parted with our whole family to England, where we, next to beautiful castles, also visited Jane. We were weighted and found not to light, so that we could get a pup from the coming litter. June 1992 the time was there and we could come and take Kensing Tiara. By that time she was already 4 month old and had got the nessessary injections. During the trip back by car and on the ferry she behaved well educated. At home she was welcomed by our 2 old Saluki’s and then ignored being a small monster. A while later the new friends were resting close to each other.

Tiara became a marvellous friend of all our family and she developped exemplary. She went to several shows, but did not liked this kind of work very much. She turned out to be lateflowering and obtained, this time with pleasure, her first CAC at the age of 11 years at our P&D Clubmatch 2002. Her children were more succesfull in the show ring. The Pul-i-Khumri’s Zafan, Za-Khya, Wangdula, Wang-Nang-Wa, Tara and her grandchildren Yamuna, Rimo & Nancee became Champions. Not to forget her greatgrandchildren Hira and Enya, they are now in the showring and are Champion or almost a Champion! Tiara leaves an emptiness in our family, but her life continues in our beautiful memories and in her children.

RAINBOW BRIDGES

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth
It is called The Rainbow Bridge because of its many splendid colors
Just this side of Rainbow Bridge there is a land
Of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When beloved pets die, they go to this place
There is always food and water, and warm spring weather
The old and the frail are young again
Those who are maimed are made whole again
They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing
They are not with their special person who loved them on earth
So, each day, they run and play
Until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and look up!
The nose twitches!
The ears are up!
The eyes are starring!
and this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen.
And when you and your special friend meet,
You take him or her into your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed, again, and again, and again
And you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together,
never again to be separated..............
